God blessed my apartment.

The fire alarm went off this morning.
I was still asleep, for goodness sake.
The voice system was forcing me to
make escape.

"For your attention, please, a fire has
been detected. Please proceed to the
nearest fire exit and go down.
Do not use the elevator, I repeat,
do not use the elevator."

I was helpless. It was only 8.20 a.m.

I brisk-walked down 14 stairwells;
reached the clearing outside the lobby
downstairs. There were a number of
sleepy looking faces, and already, there
was a fire truck and several firemen
entering the building.

I scanned up Dana building.
There wasn't any fire. Forget fire,
there wasn't any smoke detected.
Attempt wasted. True enough, the
firemen exited our building and
everyone started entering and up to
their respective apartments.
