Yohan and I attended a book talk by Maile Meloy tonight.
it was about her 2nd novel: A family Daughter
She looked rather aged, but still beautiful.
She's really nice, softspoken and shy in a good way.
Her novels so far so good. Concise comprehendable sentences.
Good concrete descriptions...
Most important thing is that she uses the third person style of writing,
isn that wonderful? anyway, I bought the novel and got her signed.
Thanks to Susan, my teacher. if it wasnt for her assignment which is due May,
I wont attend any booktalk to focus on literary writing or some sort.
so yea, good experience, I shall say.
Tonight is cold.
its been cold these past days.
Guess what!
I'll have my practical driving test tomorrow afternoon!
then an official license will be handed into my possession!
CRUCIAL!

confession time!
ok, so far this is my foremost busiest weekend.
aside from homework and the crazy 72 photoshoot,
I completed my driving lesson.
and by the way yohan had already got his license.
still an intermittent of course but already able to rent a car.
which we actually did yesterday.
but got a ticket this morning, why because we thought president's day is a federal holiday which in turn is not.
stupid fact that we have to pay the parking meter on a holiday.

Teardrops of Heaven
The evening sun had set, it's tangerine color luminated the vast rice field just next to the Baiju's wooden family altar. Ghunan made a stop at the altar just on his way home and whispered a few prayers.
"Dear ancestors," he started, "thank you for giving me this life that I had, for feeding the three of us mortals the food that we earned..." Ghunan paused, looked down at his worn off pair of canvas shoes which he won at an annual lucky draw held at his village community last November. He then thought about his wife and son who were expecting him to be home any minute.
"...and whatever future you give my family, I trust you in this, I hope we will be happy and grateful to you."
so, that's my first few sentences for the opening of my first draft short story; Teardrops of Heaven.
stay tune to catch up with the rest of the story.

Sushi Rika was delicious.
It wasn't for the fact that the bar was named after me,
but believe me... the menu was exhilarating!
There was the Spider Roll(s.s crab)
which looks merely like a spider but taste so fine.
Yohan ordered Dynamite.
This one has lots of yummy stuff in there.
Ungai, salmon, avocado, roe.
Alan ordered Dragon Roll, this one almost represent a dragon form
with the unagi on top and ebi within.
Sooo Good!
Vanessa ordered 2 orders of Hopping California Rolls
and 1 Fried Ebi Roll.
This one's deep fried. Don't ask.
They were as stabbing as the rest.
Im proud of myself.
mhuahaha.
